Select a face-up card, then a destination column. Dragging also works.

A different kind of sequence

Here are the details for this mode. Scorpion on zuoguidna.com uses one 52-card deck with four suits. Moves build down in the same suit rather than allowing cross-suit destinations. The tableau has seven columns. Four complete King-to-Ace runs clear the game.

The initial seven columns

Here are the details for this mode. Three cards remain in the stock. The first three cards in each of the first four columns are face down. All cards in the last three columns are face up. Each opening column contains seven cards for a total of 49 tableau cards.

Check rank and suit together

Keep these points in mind. A King cannot land on another card because no higher rank exists. A seven of hearts can land on an exposed eight of hearts. A seven of hearts cannot land on an eight of spades. A moved group's leading card must land on a card exactly one rank higher in the same suit.

Move exposed groups

Here are the details for this mode. The leading selected card still has to meet the destination rule. Any face-up card can be selected together with every card beneath it. The selected cards do not need to share a suit to travel together. The selected cards do not need to descend in rank to travel together.

Only Kings fill empty space

Here are the details for this mode. An empty column accepts a King or a group led by a King. A group led by a lower rank cannot enter an empty column. Cards beneath a moved King do not need to be in sequence. An empty column is therefore less flexible than an empty column in ordinary Spider.

Uncover another choice

Keep these points in mind. Removing all face-up cards above a hidden card turns that hidden card face up. An exposed card can carry the cards beneath it when its own destination is legal. The next hidden card is revealed automatically. Undo restores the earlier hidden-card arrangement when the move is reversed.

Use the stock once

Here are the details for this mode. This Scorpion version permits its stock deal when columns are empty. Dealing places a face-up card on each of the first three columns. There are no further stock cards after the three-card deal. The stock contains one final deal of three cards.

Complete a suit

The following details apply here. A completed run must descend from King to Ace in one suit. Moving an unordered group does not make that group a completed sequence. All thirteen cards in a collected run must be face up. The game removes a qualifying run automatically from the bottom of a column.

Practice Scorpion decisions

The following details apply here. A move can carry unwanted cards along with a useful leading card. Hint lists legal choices without promising a winning continuation. Checking the whole moved group helps you anticipate what will become blocked. Replay and Undo let you explore another approach to the same layout.

A few details help explain this feature. Random Scorpion shuffles are not advertised as guaranteed winnable. My Statistics records Scorpion starts and wins separately from other variants.
